Photographing the world

Hello! Today I’m going to talk you about Photography. I think that photography is a very good way to express how everyone conceives world. I don’t have a camera, but my brother ussually lends me his camera. In the past, I used to take more photos.  The photos that I took in the past was published in Flickr.com.
I  prefer to watch photografies taken by other persons that taking photographies by my self. One of my favorites websites for this is Flickr.com. I used to explore this webside to find a lots of photos. I like ones which are a politic expression, for example, photos of strikes or popular sectors.  That is why this is one of my favorite photo

I found it in flickr, and I don’t know who take it exactly, but I know that is a men called Claudio Ortiz. In this photo It shows a man whit a child in his shoulders, which is probably his son. The child have a mapuche flag. It was taken at the "first of may strike", in this year. I like this photography because I think that represents a new popular movement, whit new generations and forces. Also, I like the light and the colours of the photo, and of all the photographies of this man in general.
I think that photos like this are very important to break the mass media hegemony. It’s very important that every one document things that happen, to democratize this kind of expressions. Today, the mass media are dominated by persons who have economic power. That is why is very important create alternative media to brake his domination, being critic subjects in every aspect of our lifes.

Peadophile in Chilean church.

As we know, there are many cases of paedophile in our country, wich have been reported lately. About this, I think, first of all, that, dispite not all the priests are sexual abusers, the authority in the Chilean church and in the vaticano were aware about this situation.  The true is that, every man is guilty of charges must pay his debts, despite his occupation or job was “posted by god”. We can't denied that the subjects involved in this cases was children, wich could not resist to the power of adult people.
I think that the cause of the constant peadophilia in Chilean Church, is the power of this entity in the society and in the minds of people that conforms it. In the beginning of the history of chile, church had a great power in politics, in economics and social stuffs, legitimized with an ideology implanted in common sense of Chilean people. That is why people don’t want to believe that this cases are true, and they prefer to doubt the testimonies of people abused.

It's like all they beliefs of Christian people  felt off of a pedestal.
The worst thing is that people, despite they doubts about the moral authority of church, continue endorsing this kind of religion, and with this, its sick practices. Is more important to them have a hope of redemption that do justice?. That is the problem of naive consciousness, people believes in lies that hegemonic powers created to have people dominated. That is why the only solution to construct critic subject is education, wich destroys people's naivete.

My favorite piece of technologic

Hi!
Despite I’m not the technological type; there is a technologic devise that can’t miss in my life. This object is an mp3, mp4 or any object that play music, because I can’t live without music.
My brother gave me my first mp3 when I was 14 years old. It was a master-g gray, battery-operated. It has 2 gigas of size, and it can reproduce fm radio. I used every day in my travels to school and, when I finish the school, in the long travel to the university. I always changed music very often.
I have it until I was 18 when, sadly, I forgot take it out of my jeans and my mother washed them whit my mp3 on it. I was really sad about this loss, because I never could find another mp3 like this.
After that, I start to use my cell phone for listen music, but never was the same. It was heavier and it listened slowly. A few months later, I lost my cell phone, so I had to buy another one, which doesn’t reproduce music. That is why I bought another mp3, Fujitel, which got broken two months later (an advice: don’t you ever bought something of Fujitel). Since that moment, I didn’t bought another one, but the next month I will bought a new one, Sony make I hope.
Well, that is my story. How you can see, mp3 is an important object in my life because it gives me the possibility of listen music every time that I want, which is necessary to relaxing and be happy. I think that is the function of technologic devises in the life of every person.

In my free time

Today I’m going to tell you about things that I do in my free time.
First of all, you have to know that I don’t have enough free time since I start to study sociology. That is why the most of things that I do in my free time, are related to my career assignments. I’m at the university from Monday to Friday and, at weekends, I study and do works. Despite this, I do some hobbies no related to sociology stuffs.  In my house, I read novels and listen music. Every time I can, I go out with my friends to have a good time. If I don’t have any test, I go to parties and I laze around.
One of my hobbies, in this year, is circo. This is an artistic subject of my career, wich teach the different disciplines of circus, like juggling, telas, trapezium etc.  This activities demand a lot of physical abilities, so I have to practice every time I can, in my free time.
I like a lot to go to the theater. I try to go to free events, but also go to the plays of the Catholic University’s theater. Also, I like to watch movies that my friends recommend, most of the time, form the internet.
When I was a child, I used to play with my friends. I was also fan of toys, especially barbies. One of the hobbies that I had when I was a kid, was theater.  I did theater until I was thirteen, and I acted in many plays.
At future I want to learn taekwando, because always I wanted to be a ninja.
I think that I spend my free time very good, because I try to do things that I like every time I can, including studies. I don’t make things that I don’t want to do because all the things that I do in my life, even universities stuffs, are things that I like, and if I didn’t like it, I wouldn’t do them.

Paulo Freire, a man commmitted with his reality

Hi! Today Im going to tell you about an important author, who broke the traditional educational models of his time. He is Paulo Freire.
First of all, a little biography. Paulo Freire was born 19 September, 1921, in Recife, Brazil, within a middle class family. In 1943 he matriculates at the law school of the “Universidad de Recife”, where he studies philosophy and language philology at the same time. He never practice advocacy, he preferred teach Portuguese at high school. In 1994 Freire married with Elza Maia Costa de Oliveira, a elementary school teacher. In 1967, Freire published his first book, Education as the Practice of Freedom. He followed this with his most famous book, Pedagogy of the Oppressed, in 1968. Freire died of heart failure on May 2, 1997 in São Paulo.
About his work, in general, he reveals how the institutional education reproduces an unfair system that makes vulnerable people bear the negatives consequences of this system. This is because the ways of teaching doesn’t favor the creation of a critical subject, who is able to transform his culture. That is why he proposed an alternative way of teaching that makes possible that the subject be conscious of his reality and the roll that he have. In this pedagogy, the teacher is just an assistant for his own education. Al this concepts are development in his greatest works, “Pedagogy of the oppressed” and “Education as the Practice of Freedom”.

An example of his works is when, in 1961 -when he was appointed director of the Department of Cultural Extension of Recife University- 300 sugarcane workers were taught to read and write in just 45 days. In response to this experiment, the Brazilian government approved the creation of thousands of cultural circles across the country.
This author is important for me because, across his career, he try to create real ways to improve the system where he grown up. As a sociology student, I realized that this system is unfair, and thinking I can`t change anything. This unfair system is reproduce by formal education, and this is the way to change it. Despite pedagogy is not directly related with sociology, I think it is a real way to make my ideals about society come true.

Musically

For me, music is the expression of different universes, from different people. Songs communicate feelings, ways to see the world, to interpret reality, dreams and needs- different ways in every men and women. That is the reason why I think music is important, because it gives me the possibility of understand this universes, so different from my universe. That is way every song makes me feel many different experiences, each one as unique as the other, equivalent to meet new people.  Besides, each song or band that I’m listening, represent an specific moment of my life, an specific dream or emotion. They are like the soundtrack of my day, and without music it seems that my life doesn`t have any colour.
For this reasons, I like very different type of music. It depends of my mood of the day and mi life stage. That's why I listen to many different styles of music, like alternative rock, progressive rock, stoner, indie, cumbias, folklore etc. Despite this, there are some bands that I needto listen very often. My favorite band is muse, but just nominally cause there are so many bands that I love like Mars volta, Björk, Arctic monkeys, Tool, A perfect circle, Blur, The strokes, Silvio Rodriguez, Radiohead, Intillimani. In the other side, is very difficult to say what artist I dislike. I think that, there are some songs that I dislike, but no artists. In general, I dislike latin pop music.
The way I get access to music it's by internet, because cds are to expensive to buy each single that I like. Despite that,  I hope some day I can buy some CD's that change my life.

In my life, musica andina and Chilean folklore are very important because, since I was a child, my family listened to them a lot. It's because of this, that my brothers, my mum and my uncles, play instruments like guitar and bass to play this kind of songsI don't play any instruments (may be guitar, but too badly) but I can sing, and I think I do it very good.

As you can see, music is a very important part of my life and in every one is life, because -as every kind of art- makes possible to communicate our creativity and our inner life.
